UNION CITY — The Union City senior wrestlers closed out the regular season in style last night as the Bears stuck Eisenhower 53-16 to tie Ike for third place in region 3.
Eisenhower won just three matches as the Bears won for the fifth time in the last six matches.
In a bout with Corry connections, UC’s Tim Vargo pinned Logan Head with 15 seconds left in their 140-pound match.
Senior Brandon Nichols looked good winning 10-6 at 125.
Jared Burger (215), Greg Reinke (hwt), Shane Rankin (112), Justin Campbell (119) and Adam Green (160) also registered pins for coach Ed Margie’s Bears.
Next up is the Section 1-AA Tournament in Union City on Feb. 19-20.
