Bob McClelland, 63, of Saegertown, Pa., died unexpectedly on March 12, 2023, at AHN Saint Vincent Hospital, Erie Pa.
Bob was born April 7, 1959, in Corry, Pa., the son of the late Warren T. Fahey and the late Rosalee J. (Zimmerman) Fahey of Union City, Pa.
Bob worked for Gartner-Harf meat processing company and for O’Connell hard woods as head sawyer for several years before becoming a dedicated employee and manager at the United Refining Kwik Fill, full service. He worked there for 20 years serving the community and took care of the less fortunate when he could, inviting them in out of the cold for a hot cup of coffee, on him. He loved his job and retired in 2021.
Bob was an adored man, wore his heart on his sleeve and would do anything for anyone. He was an avid Dodge truck man who would spend countless hours pulling motors out and replacing them. He enjoyed hauling scrap metal and earned the name “Junk Man” on the CB radio. He enjoyed the good ol’ outdoors and country life, coon hunting, snowmobiling, spotting deer, watching wildlife, and chopping down trees with his buddy Rick. As a young man, he was also quite mischievous and would enjoy a bar room brawl from time to time. He also loved his Jack Daniels. Although, it did take a few health scares to tame his rowdy ways, he did eventually settle down and enjoy the simpler things in life.
Bob will be remembered as a beloved brother, loving father, loyal uncle and reliable friend, but Bob’s best role was that of a proud Papa.
Bob is survived by his siblings, Wanda McClelland (Glass) of Mill Village, Pa., Pamela Smith of Corry, Pa., Warren “Tom” Fahey Jr. of Union City, Pa., Jennie Hoffman (James) of Canadohta Lake, Pa., Richard Fahey Sr. of Union City, Pa.
He is also survived by his children, Russell Hill (Mariah) of Union City, Pa., Robert McClelland Jr. of Union City, Pa., Shawn McClelland (Karie) of Wattsburg Pa., Eric Hawley of Wattsburg, Pa., Robert Hull (Heather) of Erie, Pa., Kattie Murdock (Dale) of Union City, Pa., Sara Hart (Mike) of Waterford, Pa.; and companion of 15 plus years, Trudi Canon of Saegertown, Pa. He has 28 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Besides his mother and father, Bob was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Fahey; a son, Brian L. McClelland Sr.; grandson, Robert J. McClelland III; two brothers-in-law, James Smith and Rick Glass; great-nephew Bryson; his best friend William “Poppy” Gillespie; loyal pup Chopper; and numerous other family and friends who we know were there to welcome him at Heaven's gate.
Although he told us to just “dig a hole and roll him in,” we will have a celebration of life.
Viewing will be held at C.S. Warthman Funeral Home, 69 N. Main St., Union City, PA 16438, on Friday, March 17, 2023, from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, March 18, 2023, from 10 to 11 a.m. with services to follow.
He will be buried at Concord Corners Cemetery 12600 PA-89, Corry, PA 16407, near McCray Church.
