Lt. Col., Retired Reserve Russell M. Clark Sr., 90


Lt. Col., Retired Reserve Russell M. Clark Sr., 90, of Marion, Indiana, died on Friday, December 3, 2010, in the Wesleyan Health Care Center in Marion, Indiana.

He was born in Titusville, Pa., on September 13, 1920, a son of the late John R. and Pearl Decker Clark.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Gertrude “Trudy” Johnson Clark, whom he married on September 22, 1942, in Miami Beach, Fla.

Mr. Clark is also survived by fours sons, Dr. Russell Clark Jr. and his wife, Martha, David Clark and his wife, Cathy, the Rev. James Clark and his wife, JoAnne, and William Clark; two sisters, Esther Hopkins of Spartansburg, Pa., and Miriam Smith and her husband, Ralph, of West Bend, Wis.

Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Hannah Harmon, and her husband, Chad, Corrie Clark, Kelsey Clark, William Reed Clark, Matthew Clark, Rob Clark and his wife, Christina, and Derek Clark; and two great-grandchildren, William and Murphy Harmon. There are four stepgrandchildren and 13 stepgreat-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
