ERIE — Corry grads helped Edinboro sweep Gannon in a PSAC West women’s softball doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon at Gannon University Field.

Gannon iwon 5-3 in eight innings and 4-3, thanks to a pair of game-winning homers. In game one, Fort LeBoeuf’s Ashley Black hits a two-out home run in the top of the eighth. Corry’s Carrie Hall and Caitie Weber both went 0 for 0 but scored important runs. Weber also stole a base.

In game two, right fielder Hall was 0 for 3 while Weber played left. CAHS product Tiffani Danks, who had the game-winning hit in Gannon’s prior game, caught for the Golden Knights going 0 for 2 with a sacrifice bunt.

Overall, Hall is now 5 for 14 and Weber 2 for 10, both fielding 1.000. Ex-Beaver Kate Watrous is 1 for 3 for the Boro. Danks is batting .185 with five runs batted in.

Edinboro is now 10-9 overall and 2-2 in the PSAC West. Gannon is 12-9 and 0-2, respectively.
