The Union City girls golf team played the challenging Whispering Woods Golf Course Tuesday in Villa Maria’s region mega-match.
The Ladies Bears fell to seventh place with a 178 total. UC was led by Aubrayella Hunter shooting a season best of 54, which was only two strokes off of her PR which she set last year at the same course.
"The ladies achieved a new record hitting four greens in regulation, which means they’re hitting their irons and getting off the tee really well," said coach Nathan DeSimone.
Haily Ward (62) led the team with the highest number of fairways hit, which was five. Zoe Magee (62) and Hunter led the team with the lowest number of putts.
Shelly Ward also shot 62, Ainsley Byler with 67.
North East was again first at 126 led by Lydia Swan's 33, Anna Swan at 35. Mercyhurst Prep was second at 142, a stroke ahead of Villa Maria's 143.
Union City hosts its mega-match on Thursday at the country club.
