Over 500 kids were in Corry over this weekend to try to advance to the state wrestling tournament Friday in Wilkes-Barre. A total of 35 wrestlers from Corry and 28 from Union City started the quest for a trip to states.

Above, Corry’s Jonathon Hammond wrestles for true second. He went on to win and earned his spot to states along with Ryan Morris and Shane Taubert.

Below, Tyler Burlew wrestled strong over the weekend and came up short, going 4-2 only to lose two one point decisions to North East’s Austin Chavez.

See tomorrow’s paper for complete results and photos of the five Union City wrestlers.
