OIL CITY — Union City's wrestlers are now 10-2 after winning at Oil City on Friday, 54-28.
"It was a very nice team effort," claimed coach Jeff Hiner. "Brandon Kent came out looking for a fall and scored it quick (20 seconds). He finally looks more like the wrestler who just missed a trip to regionals last year.
"Nate Jones was dominant in his victory," he noted. "After Rossey used an injury time to get off his back, Jones went into beast mode to gain the fall. Jacob Koe wrestled a strong match to avoid being pinned by Jacob Zdarko who is Oil City's top wrestler.
"We need to do a better job of fighting off our backs," said Hiner. "We give up too many pins. Pins kill us in big matches, and that is the biggest concern right now."
The Bears are at Fort LeBoeuf on Wednesday night.
