Corry's girls soccer team lost at North East on Wednesday night, 5-0.

"Last season North East beat us by double digits both games," noted coach Brendan Boucher. "Wednesday night we were evenly matched. In my opinion, North East has one of the better goalies we’ve seen all year and we had a lot of shots on net.

"We just couldn’t quite find the hole for the score," he claimed. "Two of their five goals came off of penalty kicks.

"So like any sport, a couple mistakes can make a big difference in the swing of a game," said Boucher. "We were missing our defensive captain so that hurt our team a little as well.

"But the girls played really well," he stated. "Our passing was sharp and they took great shots. I would have loved to get a win but I’m happy with the way they played."

Emily Boyd scored twice for the Lady Grapepickers, now 6-6.

Corry, now 2-9-1, travels to Girard on Saturday for an 11 a.m. match.
