JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — The Auburn Doubledays built an early lead Monday and held on late to edge Jamestown 6-5 and salvage game three of the series against the Jammers.
The Doubledays scored five runs in the top of the first inning off starter Josh Hodges for a 5-0 lead.
Jamestown scored a run in the bottom of the second and three in the third to make it 5-4. Marcell Ozuna hit his 17th home run of the season in the third, a two-run blast to cut the deficit to one.
Auburn scored a run in the fourth and Jamestown answered with a run in the fifth on Ryan Fisher's double to make it a one-run game again.
Fisher finished with two of the Jammers’ six hits.
The Jammers (37-25) lead the Pinckney Division by 2 games over Batavia (34-26) and Williamsport (35-27) after their Monday game was rained out.
Jamestown now travels to Auburn for three games, beginning tonight at 7:05 p.m.
