Corry’s first football scrimmage, set for 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 21 at home against General McLane, will be special.
Fans are encouraged to bring a canned food donation, according to CAHS coach Homer DeLattre. The canned goods will then be donated to the Corry Area Food Pantry.
Containers will be set-up near the ticket booth, DeLattre noted.
Corry and Union City’s football teams open drills on Monday.
The Beavers go from 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday’s practices are from 2-4 p.m., and 6-8 p.m.
Friday’s session runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Union City’s practices will run 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. each day.
Corry soccer slate
Members of the Corry Lady Beavers soccer team will hold practices at the high school on Aug. 16-20 from 8 a.m. to noon (mandatory session), and then scrimmage from 1-3 p.m.
Players must have their completed physical cards before they can practice. Phone coach Gary Hogue at 665-3138 for information.
Corry’s boys soccer team will practice from 4-6 p.m. beginning Monday, according to coach Jim Wood.
The following Corry girls volleyball games have been changed due to scheduling conflicts:
• The game at home versus Girard scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 23 has been moved to Wednesday, Sept. 22.
• The match at Northwestern scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 7 has been moved to Wednesday, Oct. 6.
• The game at home versus Iroquois scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 28 has been moved to Wednesday, Oct. 27.
Corry has varsity football games scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 23 and Oct. 28.
Playing in EDGA
Mike Parks and Dave Janke will represent North Hills Golf Course in the EDGA Amateur Championship that starts Friday at Lake Shore Country Club.
Also slated to play are CAHS grad Bobby Scalise (Lawrence Park), Levi and Lucas Marsh.
