ERIE — The Erie SeaWolves continued their power surge with six extra-base hits Thursday to defeat Altoona 5-2 in an early start at Jerry Uht Park.

The SeaWolves got a solid starting pitching performance from Cory Riordan (3-2) to pick up a split of their four home games against the Curve this week. Paul Voelker picked up his fourth save.

Jeff McVaney extended his hitting streak to nine straight games with an RBI triple. Kody Eaves also tripled.

Altoona is now 11-16 and  Erie 12-14.

The SeaWolves hit the road today for a six-game trip to Bowie and Akron before returning home May 12. Tonight’s game at Prince George’s Stadium starts at 7:05 p.m.
