Minor Boys Battle to Finish

As umpire Lonnie Peterson looks on, Corry’s Logan Triscuit slides across home plate in the second inning of last night’s Minor all-star game at Bracken Field. Millcreek pitcher Tom Squeglia (2) can’t handle the late throw.

Corry’s Minor boys hung with powerful MYAA National and battled down to the final out before bowing out of the District 3 tourney losing 18-11 last night at Bracken Field.

“The boys didn’t go quietly, they battled with 14 hits including a home run,” said coach Joe Marrs. “Milcreek’s shortstop made three great defensive plays.”

J.P. Goodsel and Jimmy Donaldson had three hits apiece, Logan Triscuit with two. Donaldson and Triscuit scored twice, Tanner Martin with a homer.

Martin was the starting pitcher, charged with 11 runs and 11 hits in three innings, striking out four. Triscuit relieved and went 1 2/3 innings for two runs. Goodsel gave up five runs in the final 1 1/3.
