The Pittsburgh Pirates’ offense came alive on a night that saw the team hit three long balls in the first three innings of the game, put up four runs in the top of the sixth and four more in the eighth to break the game open.

Neil Walker and Ike Davis hit solo homers in the bottom of the second inning and Gregory Polanco launched another solo blast into the right field stands in the third to get the scoring started for Pittsburgh.
