FRANKLIN — Corry’s JV football team moved to 2-0 last night with a 16-8 win over Franklin.

The Beavers scored first on a quarterback draw play with Matt Cragg running 15 yards for the score. Corry faked the PAT kick with Cragg throwing to Shawn Lutton for the two points.

Franklin tied it in the second quarter and it was 8-8 at the half.

Corry took the lead 10-8 with a safety.

Late in the third period, QB Brent Kaufman ran 20 yards on an option keeper for a TD.

Franklin drove the ball to the 30 and was stopped, Corry taking over and running out the clock.

“The whole defense played well,” reported coach Travis Carey.

The junior varsity team plays again this Saturday at 10 a.m. at Girard.
