Bears sweep Valley in final meeting

CONNEAUTVILLE — Union City’s girls got back on the winning track with a 10-4 victory Thursday over Conneaut Valley in the last ever game versus the Lady Indians due to Conneaut’s consolidation.

Courtney Brumagin led off with a home run over the left field fence on the first pitch of the game. The Bears added four more with Caitlynn Miller, Noelle Wienczkowski, Lauren Miller and Stacey Boyce recording singles followed by Matti Uber's RBI double.

UC added three more in the second inning on RBI singles from Katie Kirik and Boyce. In the sixth, Caitlynn Miller singled and courtesy runner Tori Migliaccio advanced all the way around to score on passed balls.
