FALCONER, N.Y. — Turnabout turned out to be a disappointment for the Clymer boys basketball team on Tuesday.

After opening the season with a win at home over Falconer, the Pirates dropped game two to the Golden Falcons, 52-50.

“We didn’t handle the pressure, the press hurt us as we fatigued in the second half,” reported coach Irv King. “We shot the ball pretty well.”

Clymer was 13 of 35 on 2-point shots and 5 of 11 on threes.

“Offensively we turned the ball over too much,” said King. “We gave up many second-half points.

“We need to rebound better,” he claimed. ”They massacred us on the boards.”

Clymer led 14-9 after one quarter and 29-19 at the half.

The Falcons outscored the Pirates, 14-5, in the third quarter.

Jesse Billie and Andrew Reinwald paced Clymer early. Reinwald had all seven of his points in the first half.

Dan Wiggers scored all eight of his points in the second half, including two big buckets in the final minute of the fourth quarter. Adam Walker hit three 3-pointers and finished with nine points, plus making three steals.

Jacob Clark grabbed six boards to go with five points, Cliff Bailey had six rebounds and Bille added three assists plus six boards. Reinwald was credited with six rebounds.

Richard Allen, who had 22 points in the opener, managed just five this time but had six steals.

Ryan Nord netted 12 for the winners, Dylan Keefe and Caleb Rowan with 10 apiece.

Off the bench, Ryan Finn scored seven of Falconer's 10 in the second quarter.

Rowan's final two from the line put the game away. Nord hit six free throws in the final quarter and was 8 for 8 overall. Clymer again won the junior varsity game, 58-27. Rocky Owens netted 15 points for the Pirates.

Ryan Phelps contributed 12 points and eight rebounds. Shaeffer Eimers handed out six assists and had 11 points.

Clymer plays again at Franklinville next Monday.
