AKRON, Ohio — The Erie SeaWolves struck early and put up eight runs but it wasn’t enough on Wednesday at Canal Park as they fell to the Akron RubberDucks 9-8 in 10 innings. 

Akron (23-9) rallied from a four-run deficit in the middle innings. Jason Krizan gave Erie an 8-7 lead in the ninth with a solo home run before Cleveland Indians prospect Clint Frazier tied the game in the bottom of the inning with an RBI single.

Erie (13-19) is home tonight to begin a seven-game homestand, first facing Bowie at 6:35 p.m.
