The Hobart football team, coached by Corry grad Mike Cragg, showed no signs of rust after a two-week layoff, cruising to a 56-20 victory Saturday at St. John Fisher. The Statesmen offense scored on its first three possessions and eight of its 12 drives in the game. Hobart (2-0) rushed for 213 yards and passed for 278, converting on 12 of 17 third downs and dominating time of possession (38:18-21:42). Quarterback Nick Strang was 20 of 29 for 266 yards and a single game record matching five touchdowns

Hobart will make its 2011 debut at Boswell Field on Saturday, Oct. 1, when the Statesmen open Liberty League play against defending conference champion St. Lawrence.
