PITTSFIELD — Corry’s cross country team posted another 4-0 mark yesterday as the boys ran past Seneca 17-45 and host Youngsville, 27-30.

The Lady Beavers also were impressive besting Seneca 24-31 and Youngsville, 21-34.

Jared Colvin (see photo) was a key in the boys’ victory.

“Jared passed a couple of Youngsville boys down the stretch to bring us the win,” said coach Mike Woods. “He’s really providing some leadership for us.

“This is a fun group to watch, they are really bringing themselves together as a pack,” he claimed.

Jordan Wingard won the race through the fairgrounds with a time of 16:36. Colvin was third, Austin Pondel placed sixth, Chad Wiler ninth and Shawn McCray 10th.

For the girls, Taylor Grenz, Samantha Owens and Danielle Munsee finished 5-6-7 in the double wins. Winning the race was Rachel Munsee in 20:26.

Tori Niggel was Corry’s fifth runner placing 11th overall.

Corry is in action at Harbor Creek next Tuesday.
