WESLEYVILLE — After a big offense show on Monday, Union City’s bats were not as productive Tuesday at the 32nd annual Mayor’s Cup.
Saegertown broke things open with five runs in the fifth and eliminated UC, 13-3.
Union City got a solo homer from Bronnan Higley in the first inning, but by the third it was 8-1 Saegertown.
In the UC fourth, Brayden Kinney singled and scored on a wild pitch.
In the fifth, Jared Reagle’s homer put Saegertown up 13-2.
Union City’s final run of the tournament came in the fifth. Shane Uber and Brayden Kinney singled. Lucas Thomas banged an RBI single.
UC has played in 31 of the 32 Mayor’s Cups.
The 24th game of the tourney featured the final two undefeated teams. Marty Kaverman singled in two runs in the bottom of the sixth as the MYAA Nationals downed Harborcreek (12), 9-8.
Today’s 5:30 p.m. game pits Harborcreek against Saegertown.
