District 10 track and field champions have been few and somewhat far between for Corry Area High School over the past decade.

Names like Zach Dow and Jenny Bailey stand out.

Today, CAHS hopes to come away with a gold medal or two — or maybe more.

The Beavers are competing in the Class AAA meet at Harbor Creek High School with 14 other schools.

McDowell is the long-time boys team champion while Grove City took the girls title a year ago by a half point over McDowell.

The seeds have been released but they are just that, a guide to the best times, jumps and throws to date.

All eyes will be on Corry junior Jaynee Corbett, a first-year thrower. She’s seeded first in the shot put, javelin and discus.

She’s the best in the discus at 119 feet, 7 inches. Second best is Fort LeBoeuf’s Victoria Lavery at 107-1. Beaver Rachel Patterson is tabbed seventh at 94-5.
