As the baseball season winds down, these Beavers will sure be busy.

Even though Corry will not make the District 10 playoffs, the orange and black can finish strong and, perhaps, end up above .500.

The Beavers scored a solid 12-2 win in six innings over visiting Seneca on Friday at The Ballpark At Columbus.

Corry featured some youth in this win, in moving to 6-10.

Brendan Zajac got his first varsity hit and run scored, and pitched a scoreless inning in relief. Jacob Yetzer and Zack Lesher scored runs in the win.

Tanner Martin pitched well, striking out the side in fifth.

"Our bats finally came around," said coach Eric Brumagin. "Tanner pitched a nice game, the defense was pretty good also, but the batting is what got the job done.

"We were led by Jim Donaldson and Brady Davis who each had two hits. Every starter did record a hit.

"A special thanks to Larry Walters, Mike Munsee and the rest of our maintenance crew for getting our field ready to play," he said. “They worked hard all day just to give our boys a chance to play this game."

The Beavers have a busy week. Today's game is at Iroquois (no JV game), then home games Tuesday versus Erie East, Wednesday against Strong Vincent (senior night) and on Thursday Union City visits Columbus.
