NORTH EAST — Corry’s ninth-graders came home with a win topping host North East with their best defensive performance of the season winning 39-25.

Corry never let NE score more then eight points in a quarter, according to coach Ken Smith. Leading the scoring was Malachi Sheets with 19 points. Tavon Kornikoski netted eight and Jack Albers had six.

Corry's eighth-graders dropped a 28-25 decision to the Grape Pickers.

Karson Chamberlin netted 11 points, Kaydan McCray and Nick Lesher both with five. Cameron Ricketts and Kyleo Sheets each had two.

"We were winning most of the game but made too many turnovers," said coach Mike Soprano. "We played hard and pressed well. Lesher and Chamberlin ran the pick-and-roll well.

Corry's seventh-graders lost at North East. No score was available.

Kamdyn Moon, Landon Deane and Parker Trask all had four points.

The Little Beavers are all at home today versus Girard.
