In Class AAA, Elizabeth Forward — a 10-0 winner over Corry in the opening round — got smoked early and wound up losing to Hershey, 14-4 in five innings. Hershey, the No. 4 team out of District 3, scored six runs in the first inning off Dan Altavilla, the winning pitcher over Corry.

Hershey, now 20-8, has scored 44 runs in three playoff games. E-F finishes 21-6, having won its first section title in 27 years.

In Class AA softball, Wilmington fell 10-0 to Philipsburg-Osceola in a five-inning game at Brockway High School.

Chelsea Rex tossed a one-hitter while striking out 10 for P-0.

Wilmington (23-2) freshman pitcher Abby Sotter suffered her first loss since the season opener against Sharpsville.

The Lady Mounties (25-1) will play Nanticoke, a 10-0 winner over Central Columbia, in the championship game Friday at Shippensburg University.
