Pitching was in the spotlight in the boys Major baseball game between the Beaver Club and U.A.W.
The autoworkers wound up 3-2 winners, scoring twice in the third inning.
Liam Cragg pitched a complete game three-hitter, striking out 10 with just one walk.
Tanner Martin almost pitched as well in defeat going four innings, allowing seven hits and two runs while fanning seven and walking two.
The game ended on a walk-off sacrifice fly by rookie Kameron Beeman, plating Nick Whitaker who had walked.
Nick Marrs scored in the first and third for BC.
U.A.W. tied it when Cragg singled and scored on Tagen Drayer’s double. Jack Gill doubled him home.
Gill, the catcher, threw out Ethan Brown trying for third base in the sixth.
Brown gunned down runners in the third and fifth.
• On Thursday, Elks Club scored 11 runs in the first inning and coasted to a 17-2 win over the Moose.
J.P. Goodsel went 4 for 4 while Logan Triscuit, Donald Buell and Corbin Prody all had two hits.
Prody allowed two hits in four innings with four strikeouts and two walks. He set the stage with a four-pitch first inning.
Jonathon Keener and Matthew Brundage had hits in defeat, Bailey Volk and Brighton Lyon doing the pitching.
There’s a doubleheader today at Bracken Field, as U.A.W. and the Moose meet at 4 p.m. followed by Beaver Club against Elks Club.
