SHEFFIELD — A five-run third inning keyed Corry Northwest Savings Bank to a 9-1 methodical win over the Sheffield Sports Boosters in Friday's Warren County American Legion game.

Northwest is now 7-0 with home games tonight and tomorrow.

Kody Kondrlik homered and tripled to pace the offense. Aaron Cressley had a single and double, Cory Owens and Kelsey Crawford both with two singles, Adam Zimmerman a triple.

Cressley pitched four shutout innings for the win, striking out four allowing two hits and no walks.

Tyler Engle worked three innings for the save, yielding three hits and a walk, one run while fanning two.

The shortened regular season concludes with Blair tonight at The Ballpark At Columbus with a 6 p.m. start. Youngsville has forfeited to NSB making the bankers 8-0.

Also, Sugar Grove 758 (5-3) defeated Youngsville 658 twice, 5-4 and 8-4, while Blair (4-2) bested Sheffield, 5-3.

The playoffs start on July 5.

This year's Region 8 Tournament is in St. Marys from July 16-24.
