WATERFORD — After an impressive region win over Corry, Union City’s wrestlers were no match for Fort LeBoeuf Friday losing, 60-12.

The Bears won just two matches, both by pin.

Charlie Lenox bumped up to wrestle Dustin Weilacher and that was the marquee match-up, according to  UC coach Jeff Hiner. “Lennox won a hard-fought decision, 3-1,” he noted. “Lenox is currently Ranked No. 1 in the state and is a North Carolina State recruit.

“Brandon Kent continued his pinning ways picking up his ninth fall of the season,” Hiner pointed out. “Nate Jones scored a big pin at 138.

“LeBoeuf is the top dog in our region and it showed,” he admitted. “I was impressed with our younger guys’ fight and refusal to be pinned.”

Union City has another tough match Wednesday at home versus Harbor Creek.
