Second in the state

Union City’s girls cross country team had its best finish ever at the state meet in Hershey on Saturday, the Lady Bears placing second though they were not even ranked in the top 10. The team was welcomed back with fire trucks and horns as family and friends lined the streets. The squad, shown on the awards stand are, from left to right, Vicky Bem, Lori Beth Nunemaker, Montana Sparks, Becca Reichbaum, Melissa Bem, Brittany Kafferlin, Tanya Grossman and coach Jeannette Boyd.
