EDINBORO — Corry hung with General McLane for one quarter but the upset didn’t happen Thursday in Region 6 girls basketball.

McLane dropped Corry to 1-1 in the league and 9-5 overall after winning, 50-32.

“We came out in the first half ready to go and then we had a let down in the second quarter, this has been a trend with us;” said coach Sarah Grab. “We play teams great in the first quarter and then allow them to jump out to a lead.

“We also gave up 32 points in the first half which is very uncharacteristic of us.,” she stated. “I will give my kids credit, we never gave up.

“Despite the 18-point loss, it certainly didn't feel like that. The game felt much closer,” Grab claimed. “My girls played hard from start to finish and that is the most I can ask.

“I am glad that we get them again (at home). We will make some adjustments and be ready for McLane in a few weeks,” she said. “We can't dwell on this loss. We will bounce back, we always do. We have to prepare for our next region game on Monday.”

Emily Greer had nine points and eight rebounds, Meghan Carney with six boards and eight points. Tabitha Jaggi added six points making a pair of 3-pointers..

For McLane, now 8-3 all told, Val Majewski made three 3-balls and finished with 22 points.
