ERIE — The Corry junior varsity football team defeated Central Tech 22-0 on Saturday.

In the first quarter, Matt Cragg scored on an 15-yard sweep to make it 6-0. The PAT run failed.

In the second period, Drew Dunmire blocked a Central punt and John Cragg scooped and scored to put the Beavers up, 12-0. The 2-point run attempt was stopped. The Falcons were pinned deep in their own territory, and punting from their own end zone, the punter took the snap and took a kneel for a safety rather than risk having another punt blocked.

The score at the half was 14-0.

After the half, Matt Cragg scored again on a QB roll out pass which turned into a keeper to make it 20 0. This time the PAT. attempt was successful with a run by tailback Shawn Lutton.

“The whole defense played well hurrying the Central quarterback, tackling well and the secondary did a good job in coverage,” reported coach Travis Carey “Everyone did their job which resulted in a shutout. “

The Beaver JVs are now 3-1-1 overall and play Strong Vincent next Monday at home at 7 p.m.
