FREWSBURG, N.Y. — After leading 28-25 at the half, Clymer’s boys basketball team lost to Frewsburg 60-51 Tuesday in a Division 2 West contest.

“We moved the ball very well on offense and gave ourselves a chance to win,” said coach Irv King. “We got hurt on the offensive boards and gave up too many second chance points. It is tough losing but we are definitely showing signs of improvement.”

Clymer fell to 1-3 in the league and 3-5 overall while Frewsburg moved to 2-1 and 7-2.

Hunter Wassink led Clymer with 15 points and three steals. Zavon Overton had 13 points and three assists. Bishop Kopta produced 10 points and had seven rebounds while Alex Dunnewold pulled down eight boards.

Frewsburg’s Brad Nelson scored 11 of his game-high 25 points in the third quarter and Aaron Hair scored 16 points for the Bears who made 8 of 12 free throw attempts in the final period.

Frewsburg outrebounded Clymer, 39-26.

Clymer won the JV game, 50-32.

Also on Tuesday, Panama edged Sherman 47-44.

Cameron Barmore led the Panthers (8-0) with 22 points and nine rebounds while Gerrit Hinsdale contributed 10 points, nine rebounds and five assists.

Sherman (3-3) was led by John Swabik's 15 points.
