Clymer’s Nikki Head (12) sets the ball in Thursday’s home match.

CLYMER, N.Y. — Falconer prevailed over Clymer in the first set 27-25 and then won 25-23, 25-20 in Thursday’s South Division volleyball match.

Clymer (0-2) trailed by five points before rallying to tie it in the first set, only to come up short.

Emma Woods had 12 digs, four blocks, two kills and two aces for the Lady Pirates.

Emily Perry had nine digs, two aces and two kills. Mikala Einink served three aces, to go with four blocks, two digs and four assists. 

Emma Wiggers contributed four kills and one block, Karly Honey with three kills and three digs.

Rachael Harper had eight kills and nine digs for Falconer (2-3).


SAEGERTOWN — Union City’s girls improved to 5-0 and 3-0 in Region 3 after Thursday’s tense, tight win at Saegertown (3-1) 25-23, 29-27, 25-23.

Natalie Franke collected 13 kills and eight digs. Cyaira Zielinski had 13 digs and Tara Jackson 12.

Abby Tingley registered nine digs, Emma Hopson with six and Eliza Reynolds five.
