Cressley sharp as NSB wins fourth

Aaron Cressley was outstanding Thursday night.

The last time Corry baseball fans saw Aaron Cressley pitching, it was in the PIAA playoff game at Jerry Uht Park when he had to be helped off the field after getting hit near the ankle with a line drive.

Thursday night at The Ballpark At Columbus, Cressley looked like he had never missed a step. Pitching for Northwest Savings Bank, Cressley threw a four-hitter as the money lenders won going away over Warren Post 135, 9-0, to improve to 4-0 in the Warren County American Legion Baseball League.

“Aaron pitched a great game, nice to see him back to normal after his injury against Elizabeth Forward,” said coach Larry Joe Frisina.

“AC” struck out eight and walked zero in the shutout.

Corry led 3-0 after two innings, and 5-0 after five before a big four-run sixth.

Warren’s Andrew Bevevino, Casey Moyer, Jordan Baker and Alex Blakeley had singles.

Kody Kondrlik and Mitchell Anderson had doubles for NSB.

Anderson, not Kelsey Crawford, has been added to the County roster for tonight’s all-star game at Jerry Uht Park. Pre-game ceremonies, honoring ex-CAHS baseball and basketball coach Joe Frisina, start at 6:30 p.m., the game beginning at 7 p.m.

Also on Thursday, Youngsville Post 658 (2-2) was a 10-1 winner over the Sheffield Sports Boosters.

Undefeated Corry visits Post 135 (4-2) Monday at Old Legion Field. The bankers are home Tuesday versus Sugar Grove Post 758 and Wednesday against Blair.
