UNION CITY — With first place in Region 3 on the line, Cambridge Springs pulled away to defeat Union City 53-35 on Wednesday night.
Cambridge improved to 3-0 in the region and 8-2 overall. UC fell to 3-1 and 6-5.
Jayden Shinsky scored seven of his nine points in a 22-5 third-quarter edge for CS.
Lance Welker had 13 points and Nathan Held and Trent Wheeler added 11 and nine points.
For Union City, Cole DeSimone had a game-high 14 points making three 3-point baskets. Keegan Hornaman netted 11. No one else had more than four points.
The Bears made just 2 of 6 free throws while Cambridge hit 10 of 16.
