READING — The Erie SeaWolves pounded out 14 hits and earned a series sweep winning 9-4 Sunday over the Reading Phillies in front of 7,369 fans.

Brandon Douglas had four runs batted in for the SeaWolves (49-66), starting things with a two-run single in the top of the third inning.

Douglas scored on a double by Billy Nowlin to put Erie ahead 3-0.

Brian Pounds extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a fourth-inning single.

Alden Carrithers hit his first Eastern League home run in the sixth.

Erie starter Duane Below (4-11) allowed just one earned run and three hits in 5 2/3 innings.

Tagg Bozied hit a three-run home run in the eighth inning and finished the game with four RBIs for Reading (55-58).

Erie is off today, then back home for a six-game homestand starting Tuesday against New Britain at 7:05 p.m.
