PITTSBURGH — Corry’s Michael Pollard won three matches Tuesday, all by pin, at the 43rd annual Powerade Wrestling Tournament at Canon McMillan High School.
Corry is tied for 30th place with Charleroi and Hempfield in the 44-school field. Central Daupin is tied for first place with Collins Hill, Georgia.
Pollard, the No. 2 seed at 189 pounds, had pins in 1:09, :30 and 1:52 yesterday and meets Hempfield’s Nikos Garofola in today’s semifinals.
Jake Kondrlik (145) won twice by pin and then lost, 6-2. He won 10-0 this morning
Upstart Nash Walters (215) went 3-1. He won by pin, lost 4-2, registered another pin and then won by major decision, 10-0.
Dustin Taubert (171) went 2-2, losing 3-2 and 12-2, winning 4-0.
Austin Gillihan (119) and Kevin Kerr (130) did not compete.
