The Corry girls basketball team jumped out to a big lead early and held on to win 42-35 over a stubborn Titusville team last night at the Corry Area High School gymnasium.

Corry fell behind 6-2 in the first quarter after 2 minutes before they held Titusville scoreless the remaining of the quarter. Morgan Haibach and Abby Gluvna combined for nine points and the Beavers led 9-6 after period one.

The defense set the tone in the second period as the lady hoopsters kept the Rockets to only two points.

Haibach continued to shine as she scored eight more points and Corry took a 19-8 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Titusville — coached by Corry grad Jenny (Gates) Troup — came out tough in the third period and scored 14 points. That cut the lead to 30-22 and all of a sudden momentum was heading toward the visitors.
