EDINBORO — General McLane has two new coaches.

Tori Hansen, has been hired as the new girls basketball coach at McLane, while Laura Stippich, 41, is the new head coach of the girls volleyball program.

Hansen, 26, was a standout at McLane before going on to an impressive career at West Liberty State. She left with a record 918 career rebounds. She is a math teacher at General McLane High School and has coached several sports since returning from a professional basketball career in Australia.

Hansen was a junior varsity basketball coach at McDowell for two years and a JV soccer coach at McLane for two years, and also is involved with coaching at the AAU level.

Stippich was a standout volleyball player at GM before joining the Air Force. She coached girls volleyball in Wisconsin before moving back to the Erie area in 2010.

Stippich replaces Heather Karns, who resigned after four seasons in January.

Hansen replaces Sarah Jay, who was not offered a contract after five seasons with the Lady Lancers.
