Fairview proved too much for Corry in tennis action yesterday as the visiting Tigers shut out the Beavers, 5-0.

Marcus Mosher lost to Tom Shuttleworth 6-2, 6-0 in first singles. Tabitha Jaggi was shut out 6-0, 6-0 by Jonathon Knoll while Jared Mosher went down 6-1, 6-0 to Ryan Rothman.

In first doubles, the duo of Matt Kellogg and Dillan Roth bowed 6-1, 6-1 versus Jimmy Fitzgibbon and Shane Loper .

Thea Weibel and Ruthanne Gernovich lost to Steven Steehler and Chalrie Levin 6-1, 6-4.

“The closest match was at second doubles,” said coach Al Gernovich. “Once again Fairview is a power house for the region.

“We try to set goals for each match and our team stayed in the match and maintain our focus despite the score,” he said. “I felt that we accomplished that.”

CAHS looks for its first win today at Titusville, then travels to General McLane on Wednesday.
