AUBURN, N.Y. — Jamestown moved into a tie for first place in the Pinckney Division with Williamsport after the Jammers held on for an 11-8 road win over Auburn on Monday.

The Jammers (21-15) scored three runs in the fourth and five more in the fifth, then needed a three-run eighth inning to hold on in the New York Penn League.

Auburn plated six runs in the bottom of the eighth to make it a game.

Marcell Ozuna hit his ninth homer this season, one of 15 Jammer hits.

Dallas Hord and Ozuna had three hits each for the Jammers; Noah Perio, Aaron Dudley, Harold Brantley and James Wooster with two hits apiece.

Rett Varner threw five scoreless innings for his first win as a Jammer.

The NYP takes today off, then the Jammers host Mahoning Valley (14-24) on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m.
