Corry Post 365’s Junior American Legion baseball team dropped a 5-4 decision to visiting River Valley on Tuesday.
Corry scored a run in the first off a Nate Lesher single followed by a Caleb Marrs walk and Lucas Dyne single that plated Lesher.
In the top of the third, River Valley scored four runs off an infield and a bloop single to start the inning. Then RV added three more singles to drive in their runs.
Corry answered right back in the bottom of the third to tie the game. Nick Brundage reached on an error and was then bunted over by Logan Joncas. Lesher then plated Brundage with a single and Marrs plated Lesher with a double.
Dyne then singled to load the bases and Max Rimdzius put the ball in play driving in Marrs.
River Valley snuck in more run in the sixth inning to win the game 5-4.
“Lesher pitched another really good game striking out four and Marrs came in relief striking out four,” said coach Mike Soprano.
Lesher went 5 1/3 innings, Marrs 1 2/3.
Marrs was 2 for 4 with two doubles, Dyne 2 for 4 and Lesher 2 for 3. All had an RBI as did Rimdzius.
Joncas, Zack Martin and Ethyn Allen had one single.
Corry (3-3) is to host Erie tonight.
