SCANDIA — Corry’s golfers finished fifth in a 14-school field and earned a trophy in Wednesday’s Blueberry Hill Classic Invitational near Warren.

Meadville, who has an independent match in Corry today, won the event with a total of 322 strokes. Slippery Rock was second followed by host Warren Blue.

Meadville’s Charlie Holt was the medalist with a round of 72. Slippery Rock’s Bret Rinker shot 74 and Bob Paczkowski 75. Strong Vincent’s Chris Kutniewski tied for second with a 74.

Corry’s top gun was Ryan Hazlett with a 79. Sophomore Joey Sonntag posted an 82, Nicholas Eck with 87 and Drew Sorenson 93.

Warren’s best was Nathan Sanberg at 76, while Titusville’s Matt McCord carded 77 and Eric Maginnis 78.

Corry’s tri-match today at North Hills involves Meadville and McDowell.
