When Corry faces Girard in a region football game this fall, the YellowJackets will have a new head coach.

Jim Funk, 31, has resigned after six seasons.

Funk posted a 31-30 record after he took over in 2010 following the death of head coach Mina George.

Funk's best season with the team was in 2013 when he led the YellowJackets to a 10-3 record and a runner-up finish in District 10 Class AA.

He said that he struggled with balancing football, family and health, and he felt the timing was right to resign.

Corry last played Girard in 2013, losing a road game, 31-14. In 2012, the Jackets prevailed 30-27 in overtime at Sheen Field.
