FALCONER, N.Y. — After a slow first half, the Clymer boys basketball team came on after intermission and scored a 50-35 win over Falconer on Wednesday night.

“We really struggled to score in the first half,” claimed coach Dan White, his Pirates up 17-13 at the break. “We had a lot of good looks that just did not fall.

“We shot the ball much better in the second half,” White noted. “We played hard. It was a good road win.”

Lucas Beckerink led Clymer (now 2-1) with 14 points to go with six rebounds, six assists and two steals.

Zavon Overton hit four 3-pointers in the second half for 12 of points. He grabbed seven rebounds and made three steals.

Jordan Wade had eight points and seven rebounds. Spencer TeWinkle collected six boards and netted six points.

Brandon Crick led winless Falconer with 10 points. Tylar Olson grabbed 10 rebounds.

Clymer won the junior varsity game.

The Pirates play again Monday at Gowanda.
