BUSTI, N.Y. — After the scheduled opening day was rained out last weekend, the weather forecast is much more promising this week for Stateline Speedway’s 60th anniversary on Saturday, with the green flag falling promptly at 7 p.m.
In honor of Mother’s Day, all moms will be admitted for $5 for this special event.
Racing returns to the area’s longest continuously operating speedplant with a 30-lap special for Super Late Models, the staple class of racers every year since 1956. The featured event will run for 30 laps and will pay $2,500 to the winner.
All supporting classes will be in action including the RUSH Crate Late Models, the Outlaw E-Mods, Pro-Mods, Street Stocks, the Super Sportsmen and the Challengers.
The new Stateline Speedway is located south of Jamestown, N.Y. on Kortright Road in the town of Busti. The pit gates open at 4 p.m. with fan gates opening at 5 p.m.
HAMMETT — After losing the scheduled opening night to weather, Eriez Speedway will try again this week to get the 2016 racing season started Sunday featuring giveaways for mothers throughout the evening. All moms will be admitted for $8, a $5 discount from the normal $13 ticket.
Fan gates open at 5 p.m. and pit gates at 4 p.m., with the first green flag shown at 6:30 p.m.
