The Union City Bears traveled to Girard on Tuesday for a Region 4 volleyball match. Unfortunately for the Lady Bears, the Girard Yellowjackets kept the win at home in four games: 26-24, 23-25, 25-19, 25-23.

Corry volleyball played three pretty similar sets against Fairview on Tuesday night. The Beavers started out a little rough, playing the game close from the 10-point mark to the 16 or 18 mark, and then powering away from the Tigers with a 3-0 sweep in Region 4 action 25-17, 25-18, and 25-19.

The Clymer/Sherman girls volleyball team defeated Cassadaga Valley (10-5) in four sets Tuesday by the scores of 25-10, 23-25, 25-19 and 25-20.

The Clymer/Sherman/Panama girls finished third out of 11 teams. Leading the way for the Wolfpack was Hannah Schauman in 17th, Solki Martin Lacayo in 18th, Leighanne Swan in 31st, Tayden Persons in 34th and Eve Johnson in 42nd.

Corry's Maxx Rimdzius qualified for the PIAA state golf tournament a year ago and he will be joined today by teammate Nate James plus Union City's Josh James and Tyler Parkhurst at the Heritage Hills Golf Resort in York.

COCHRANTON — The Corry varsity volleyball team finished a very long week of competition by participating in the Cochranton tournament on Saturday. The nine-team round robin play started off well, and although the record didn’t show it (3-6), it was a productive day and a lot of good competition.

Corry’s volleyball team played a scrappy, senior-laden Girard Yellow Jacket team on Tuesday night. Girard, coming off a Covid shutdown, and Corry, missing senior middle hitter Maggie Dow due to illness, were both near the top of the Region 4 leaderboard.
