Retired MSGT Joseph Lawrence Lasher, 53, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021, in Abilene, Texas.
Joe was born in Union City, Pa., to Lawrence and Norma(Quinn) Lasher on Sept. 9, 1968. He graduated from Union City High School in 1986 and then enlisted in the Air force. He served 20 plus years, which included tours in the Gulf and Iraq wars, and retired as a master sergeant.
Joseph had many hobbies he enjoyed and shared with his family. He loved fishing, camping and traveling to visit family and spending time with his kids. He was a member of the American Legion and the Church of Christ in Anson, Texas.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Thomas and Ida Quinn; paternal grandparents, Norman and Grace Lasher; and father-in-law, Richard Carrington; and uncles, Norman and Al Lasher.
Survivors include his loving wife, Crystal, whom he married on July 31, 2004, in Abilene, Texas; four sons, Derek (Hannah) Lasher of Dayton, Ohio, Dylan Lasher (Emma Herren) of Dayton, Ohio, Cameron and Ryker Lasher of Abilene; one daughter, Brittany (Michael) Rauch of Jacksonville, N.C.; parents, Lawrence and Norma Lasher of Union City, Pa.; mother-in-law, Theresa Carrington of Anson, Texas; two brothers, Kevin (Donette) Lasher of York, Pa., Eric (Cecelia) Lasher of Dewitt, Va.; brother-in-law, Curtis (Tabatha) Carrington of San Saba, Texas; three aunts and one uncle, five nieces and seven nephews and several cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250, will be appreciated.
Memorial service will be held for family and friends at the First United Methodist Church, 42 E. High St, in Union City, Pa., at 11 a.m. on Oct. 16, 2021. Pastor Hae Seon Lee will be officiating.
