Elizabeth Anne Sammons
 
Elizabeth Anne Sammons, 87, of Stateline Road, Wattsburg, Pa., died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, at Corry Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 5, 1933, in Corry, Pa., a daughter of the late Steven and Natalie Schuvchuk Dubrosky.
Since she was an infant, Anne was raised by the late Edith Adams.She was educated in the Corry area and graduated from Corry High School in 1950. Following her marriage, she helped on the family dairy farm and cared for her home and children. Later, she received her RN degree from St. Vincent School of Nursing in 1975. Over the years, Anne worked for St. Vincent Hospital, Corry Hospital and Corry Manor before starting at the Presbyterian Lodge in Erie for eight years. She retired in 1995.
Anne enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad, gardening and being outdoors. She moved to Stuart, Florida, to be closer to her son, Douglas and his family. Anne lived there for 15 years, serving as the pastor of visitation for the Hobe Sound United Methodist Church for much of that time. She kept many dear friendships from her life in Florida after returning to Wattsburg in 2019.
In addition to her parents, Anne was preceded in death April 7, 2000, by her husband, Francis “Jim” Sammons, whom she married Aug. 11, 1957, in Corry, Pa.; a daughter-in-law, Susan Sammons; two sisters, Mary Gerling, Olga Kunde; a foster sister, Crystal Cady; five brothers, Charles, John, Louis, Peter and Alex Dubrosky; and three foster brothers, Lawrence, Russell, and Allan Adams.
Anne is survived by a daughter, Joann Clute and her husband Peter of Wattsburg, Pa.; and a son, Douglas J. Sammons of Jensen Beach, Fla.
She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and foster nieces and nephews.
A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Burial will be in Wattsburg Cemetery, Wattsburg, Pa.
