William W. Willis

William W. Willis, 77, of Route 957, Bear Lake, Pa., died Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at his home.

He was born Oct. 8, 1943, in Corry, Pa., a son of the late Ernest A. and Floralyn A. Adams Willis.

Bill was raised and educated in Spring Creek and Corry and attended Corry High School. He worked for Erie County Plastics and in 1965 he enlisted into the U.S. National Guard. He then worked for Corry Jamestown Corporation for several years. Bill then went to work for the Corry Fish Hatchery where he was the manager. He worked for the hatchery for 25 years before retiring in 1996. After retirement, Bill worked for Timber Line Farms for 10 years.

He was a member of Faith Evangelical Church in Corry for over 35 years, where he taught Sunday School, served as Head Trustee and led a men’s group. He was also a Boy Scout leader for many years. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a brother and sister in infancy and a brother, James Willis.

Bill is survived by his wife, Linda J. Nichols Willis, whom he married July 30, 1983, in Bear Lake, Pa.; two daughters, Kristina Kurtz and her husband Chris of Buffalo, N.Y., and Kelly Balas of Youngsville, Pa.; three sons, Timothy Willis and his wife Sherrie of Columbus, Pa., Thomas Willis and his wife Lynette of Corry, Pa., and Dennis Higby Jr. of Corry, Pa.; and a sister, Mary Way and her husband Chuck of Corry, Pa.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Rowan, Kiera, Wyatt, Hunter, Jackie, Taylor, Morgan and Donellis; one great-granddaughter, Myla; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Faith Evangelical Church, 13444 W. Washington St., Corry, Pa., on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service there at 11 a.m. The Rev. J. Lynn Cirigliano and the Rev. Jake Cirigliano will officiate.                         

Burial will be in West Spring Creek Cemetery, Spring Creek, Pa.
