Robert F. Dougherty, 81, of Picidilli Hill Road, Corry, Pa., died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019, at Corry Manor.
He was born April 11, 1938, in Erie, Pa., a son of the late Francis and Mary Patterson Dougherty.
Bob was raised and educated in Erie and graduated from Erie Tech Memorial High School. He was involved in tool & die making his entire life. Bob worked for Continental Rubber, General Electric, Erie Tech and Johnson Tool. In 1976, he moved to Corry where he owned and operated Corry Machine and Manufacturing. He retired in 2005.
He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church where he was a Eucharistic Minister and was on the St. Thomas Parish Council. Bob enjoyed flying Cessna airplanes at the Pittsfield Flying Club, hunting, fishing camping and boating.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Dougherty.
Bob is survived by his wife, Pat A. Seither Dougherty, whom he married May 1958 in Erie, Pa.; a daughter, Diane Clark and her husband, Drew of Corry, Pa.; two sons, John Robert Dougherty and his wife, Roxann of Corry, Pa., and Jerry Dougherty and his wife Oella of Union City, Pa.; and a sister, Betty Lou Wheeler of Harborcreek, Pa.
He is survived by 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren with one on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call at Bracken Funeral Home Inc., 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa., on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m., and attend the funeral Mass on Wednesday at St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 203 W. Washington St., Corry, Pa., at 10 .am. The Rev. D.G. Davis will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, Corry, Pa.
